How do nasal strips work?

Two flexible bands sit inside the strip. Press it across the bridge of your nose and they try to straighten out, pulling your nasal passages open from the outside. It is purely mechanical, so there is no medication to absorb and no rebound congestion when you stop.

Is mouth tape safe to sleep in?

For most healthy adults who can already breathe comfortably through the nose, yes. Do not use it if your nose is blocked, if you have a cold or sinus trouble, if you have been drinking or taking sedatives, or if you have sleep apnoea. If you snore heavily or stop breathing during sleep, speak to a doctor before you start. Ours is vented in the centre rather than a full seal.

Which should I start with?

The strips. They work on their own, they are easy to get used to, and they tell you fairly quickly whether a blocked nose is what has been waking you up. Add the tape once nose-breathing feels normal.

Can I use both at once?

Yes, and most people eventually do. The strip opens the airway, the tape keeps you using it. Each covers the other's weakness.

Will one strip hold all night?

That is what the adhesive is designed for. Apply it to clean, dry skin with no moisturiser or oil — that is by far the most common reason a strip lifts early.

Will it leave a mark?

It should not. Peel slowly in the morning rather than pulling it straight off. If your skin is sensitive, take it off in the shower when the adhesive has softened.

Do they work if I have a deviated septum?

Often, yes — a strip widens the nasal valve from the outside regardless of what the septum is doing. It is not a fix for the septum itself, and a badly deviated one may need looking at properly.

Are they reusable?

No. Both are single-use. The adhesive is designed to hold once and release cleanly, not to hold repeatedly.

Which pack size should I buy?

If you have not used them before, start with the smallest. If you already know they work for you, the larger packs bring the per-night cost down.
